Only the punches/thorns are offered, suitable for the pricking irons from our pre-order. You can choose between punches and thorns. While punches punch out material in a circle, thorns only make a small slit in the leather, like an awl. The advantage of punches is that the punched holes are perfectly round and produce a slightly more perfect hole for the subsequent seam pattern, but punches also wear out more quickly due to the cutting surface. The thorns, on the other hand, are somewhat more durable, but the slits are slightly misshapen (not visible to the naked eye when sewing later without comparison). Furthermore, the slits can cause the leather to tear more easily in very thin leather.
