Here you can find our online courses to learn more leather craft techniques. You do NOT need this knowledge to make leather accessories with our DIY boxes.
The techniques are helpful if you want to deepen and expand your knowledge of leathercraft beyond our DIY boxes and want to implement your own leather projects. In the courses, the necessary materials are explained, the techniques are shown in detail, and further tips and tricks for a good result are shared.

Explanation of individual courses:

Sharpening is the thinning of leather in specific places to reduce the overall thickness of the leather accessory. This is done with a sharpening knife. In the course you will also learn how to sharpen and polish your sharpening knife so that you can achieve good results every time. Finally, you can apply what you have learned to a project, a leather notebook cover (template included, materials not included).

When creased , a decorative line is drawn at a certain distance from the edge using an edge creaser with manual heat (e.g. from a lighter) in order to have a guide line for the seam line that is then pricked. Unlike compasses and other spacing tools, the edge creaser also works on chrome-tanned leather thanks to the heating.

Pricking describes the process of punching holes in your leather with a pricking iron. Using the orientation line previously marked with the creaser, you can position the seam line at an even distance from the edge. In the course, we will explain a few things about different pricking irons and show you the technique of how pricking works.

In the card case course, you can apply everything you have learned (cutting, optional sharpening, crease and pricking) to your own project. You will learn how to make a card case with two pockets and a zipper and will be guided through the project step by step. Note: You will also need to know how to sew leather with a saddle stitch and how to finish the edges with base coat and edge paint. This course also includes the template for the card case and written and illustrated step-by-step instructions.
